Van der Steege Farm in the Netherlands
The Van der Steege dairy farm in Aldtsjerk, Friesland, has been using a new Feedstar feed belt system with Vario control since mid-2025. The farm manages around 140 hectares of land and is home to 180 dairy cows and 90 young cattle. With an impressive annual milk yield of 13,000 kg per cow, the farm ranks among the high-performing dairy operations in the region.
In order to expand the barn without having to obtain an additional building permit, the Van der Steege family decided to install a feed belt. After seeing similar systems abroad and learning more through YouTube, they discovered the Feedstar system, which ultimately convinced them.
Hermann Farm in Irschenberg
The Hermann farm in Irschenberg, Upper Bavaria, has moved from its old tie-stall barn into a new free-stall barn.
The new barn provides the animals with greater freedom of movement and improved comfort – moving away from a fixed tie-stall system towards an open barn concept with more flexibility. A key element of this transition is the Feedstar feed belt. Measuring 41 metres in length and installed in a barn with space for 58 cows, it helps ensure efficient and consistent feeding.
Kellerer Farm
The Kellerer dairy farm in Ostermünchen, Bavaria, has been using a Feedstar feed belt system with Vario control and Lite winch since January. The family-run farm manages around 40 hectares of land and currently keeps 70 dairy cows and 50 young cattle. Following the barn extension, there is now space for a total of 85 cows.
Construction of the extension began in August of the previous year and was completed when the animals moved in during January. The aim was to create more space and outdoor exercise areas while also enabling an innovative, space-saving and straightforward feeding solution in the outdoor area.
The Feedstar belt is 20 metres long and 90 centimetres wide, providing a total of 25 feeding places.
