Renovation and extension for the Hofer family in Krumbach, Austria

After renovation, the feedstar feed belt was installed.

Our Feedstar customer Josef Hofer owns a farm in Krumbach, Austria. Mr Hofer has 35 dairy cows and had been looking for a way to automate feeding his animals for quite some time. After deciding to renovate, the farmer became aware of Feedstar and was immediately impressed by the flexible solutions.

Personal planning and advice

After Mr Hofer got in touch, the requirements were discussed in a few face-to-face meetings on site and initial plans were drawn up. Based on these discussions, the Feedstar Basic solution was recommended to Mr Hofer. The Basic version consists of four components: the feed belt made of tear-resistant fabric, a winch that guarantees a constant belt speed, a roll-back device that transports the remaining feed out of the barn, and a control system that allows feeding to be started at a constant speed. Mr Hofer intends to switch to fully automatic feeding at a later stage. Thanks to the modular design, upgrades to the Vario or Pro versions are easily possible.

Dimensions of the Feedstar system

We installed a space-saving 29-metre-long and 0.90-metre-wide Basic system in the barn. The whole thing was combined with a stationary mixer. The system can be easily expanded if necessary. That is one of the great advantages of our Feedstar feeding system.
